CHINADA Actively Promotes the Implementation of 2021 World Anti-Doping Code and Related International Standards

2020-05-08

In November 2019, the updated version of World Anti-Doping Code (hereinafter referred to as the Code) and related international standards were approved during the World Conference on Doping in Sport held in Katowice, Poland and will enter into effect as of January 1, 2021. For effective implementation of the new Code and related international standards to align international and national rules, a Project Group for Code Implementation was established by CHINADA to develop a detailed work plan and timeline, thus facilitating the preparations for the implementation of the Code and international standards.

As requested by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA in short), a videoconference between the CHINADA project group and WADA Compliance Review Committee and WADA Asia Office was held on March 24, 2020 to communicate on the template for rules formulation, highlighted points and timeline, with a consensus reached. CHINADA shall submit the English version of China’s anti-doping rules to WADA for review and approval, thus maintaining China’s position as a signatory of the new Code.
